Sew Ruffle Layered Skirt

Sewing blogger are always like to explore different things recently I have an article with Sew Simple Romper, A very delicate work with pattern things, my Facebook users are liking it to much hopefully I will find more regular work. Anyway back to our article that is Sew Ruffle Layered Skirt.

In my childhood I always insist my Mum to buy skirt for me and she always bought jeans for me due to weather condition may as they has always long time to wear but after sometime I start sewing and skirt is the most simplest thing I have found to wear and to sew honestly. Then My mother also realize it 😉 . Today we are working on Simple gathered Ruffle skirt which has only three layers. Easy Cutting no pattern needed for it.

Let’s start with Sew Ruffle Layered Skirt (What You need)

– Four pairs of fabric
– Elastic for waistband and also need some Straight pins.

As you see there are three skirt layers. Top one is for elastic waistband you can minimize it. My details are:

Piece (starting from left):
Piece 1 – Length: 6 Inch for each.

There are two pieces you need one for waistband and other one for step inner layer under Ruffle consider below.

Piece 2 & 3 – Used for simple ruffles.
Length: 12 Inch for each

Sewing Basic Steps for Ruffled Skirt:

Above Picture show you whole demonstration for further detail let me describe you here:

1- Start with lower layer, second layer. Two pieces one for ruffles as it also has Gathered sew already, Second one is for inner layer which later hide under First ruffle layer.
2- How Bottom layer looks, Gathered totally depends and on your fabric width. I prefer not so wide so taken half circle width.
3- Start pinning from left to right. here pinning 1st Pin.
4- Completing pinning step.
5- Second pinning.
6- Take Upper gathered layer.
7- Place parallel to inner stitched part hemline.
8- Pin it.
9- How it looks inside for clearer view.
10- Top waistband layer.
